Tourism in Sabah not affected by intrusion

LAHAD DATU: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin expressed confidence the tourism sector in Sabah was not affected by the intrusion by terrorists.

Overall, he said, the state was safe for tourists, adding that they should not be worried over the level of security in the state as “the security of tourists is assured”.

“From my conversation with Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun, I was informed Sabah is safe to be visited.

“Many are keen to come here due to the beauty of its islands and mountains. Furthermore, this is ‘Visit Sabah Year’, so I hope visits and tourist arrivals will continue to go up,” he said.

Muhyiddin was speaking to reporters yesterday, after visiting a group of residents who are putting up at the Cenderawasih Multipurpose Hall in Felda Sahabat here after they were displaced by the intrusion
