Sarawak spreads its wings in the city of angels

The event in Los Angeles will include potential clients and invitees from SCB’s contacts as well as Malaysian industry partners, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and Tourism Malaysia; the event is being coordinated by WOW Collection.

LOS ANGELES - The Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) team are heading to Los Angeles to conduct the first ever USA ‘Borneo Talk’ program to reintroduce Sarawak as a Business Events destination and share Sarawak’s conservation efforts through the soft launch of the first “Soulful Orangutan Appeal Project”.

Recent Incentive Industry Research identified 41% of international meeting and incentive planners will choose Europe and 15% will choose Asia as their first choice destinations for outbound incentive travel. As such, SCB are looking forward to establishing their presence in Southern California and at IMEX America in Las Vegas.

The Sarawak delegation will include SCB, CPH Travel Agency and Borneo Adventure - all of whom have been supportive of SCB’s efforts in developing business events in Sarawak.

SCB Managing Director, Mike Cannon commented, “The ‘Borneo Talk’ event will introduce Sarawak as a business events destination to the American market, after which we will have a Borneo Quest themed interactive event where guests can get a taste of Sarawak in Los Angeles.”

“We hope that the event will not only give our guests a feel of Sarawak, but also bring to light Sarawak’s many conservation programs and hopefully increase participation as a way of giving back to nature,” he added.
