Fort Alice heritage museum to have committee to improve its facilities

SRI AMAN: Sarawak Museum Department (SMD) will set up a special committee to improve exhibition facilities at Fort Alice, a heritage museum in Sri Aman.

SMD curator Iswandi Junaidi said a few departments and agencies in Sri Aman, including some non-government organisations, would be joining the committee.

“The committee will set to increase exhibition items on Sri Aman history, culture and heritage,” he said at the Fort Alice gotong royong. The work party also featured Jason Brooke, a grandson of one of the Rajah Brookes.

More than 50 members from Kelab Remaja Hikmah, Kelab Silat Harimau Belang Sri Aman and Bantu Lah Rakyat (BLR) joined the work party.

Iswandi said the Sri Aman heritage museum expected about 500 visitors per month since it was opened last April.
